The Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane manages a balance of both cosmopolitan chic and business, but is yet welcoming to families. Located in the heart of the Mayfair district, the property is conventionality located within walking distance to some of London’s most regarded landmarks: Hyde Park, Green Park, Kensington Gardens, Buckingham Palace, to name a few. The hotel is also close to great restaurants, fabulous shopping and the super easy to navigate underground train better known as “the tube”.
Arrival from Heathrow
If your family is arriving from Heathrow, as we did, there are a few different options for transportation; the tube, black cab, or private car service. We decided that since this was going to be our first time traveling to London, and we were going to be very jet-lagged, that we would have the hotel arrange for our transportation. Our driver met us at baggage, helped us with our bags and then delivered us to to the hotel a luxury Mercedes sedan pointing out interesting landmarks along the way. When it was time to check out of the hotel and return to the airport we used a black cab and it cost about £ 80 or $100.00 US.
The rooms are a fairly generous size considering it’s a city hotel. My daughter and I stayed in a Deluxe Room with one king bed. Our room was on the 7th floor and we had lovely city views, and were even able to see the London Eye off in the distance. Rooms either have city views or Hyde Park views, regardless, the higher the floor the better view. The room had a small “balcony” that you could take maybe one step out onto, which good enough to get a sense of the weather before heading out. We found the rooms to be very clean, sophisticated in design and the bedding to be comfortable. Upon arrival, the hotel had a roll-away bed setup in our room for my daughter, as well as a welcoming platter of fresh fruit and colorful macaroons.

As I was traveling with my 11 year-old daughter, who has a relatively sophisticated palate, we
found menu of the house restaurant to be a but fussy, so we did not dine at the house restaurant, Amaranto.
Amaranto- modern Italian cuisine with an English twist. On the menu you will find seafood, pasta and meat entrees. The restaurant is open for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Weekend Brunch and Afternoon Tea.
Amaranto Lounge- All-day dining is available in “the lounge”, which is conveniently located just off the lobby. At intimate gathering space you can enjoying anything from a Club Sandwich to Caviar. Since this hotel seems to cater to a more business crowd, you won’t find too many kids congregating here.
Amaranto Bar- where can enjoy light snacks , cocktails or a fine Italian wine (extensive selection)
Veuve Clicquot ‘The Secret Garden’- the only outdoor space in Mayfair where guests can enjoy a glass of Veuve Clicquot RICH and light fare.
In-Room Dining- offers a very wide variety of options to choose from. Everything we ordered, was delicious and there were plenty of kid-friendly options; cheeseburgers, pasta with butter, fish-n-chips, paninis and brownie sundaes! We mostly did room service for breakfast, and everything was excellent.
While the Four Seasons London at Park Lane does not have a pool, it does have a spa. The spa is
a rooftop sanctuary located on the 10th floor. There are nine treatment rooms where guests can enjoy body and facial treatments. For those who are craving a more energetic rejuvenation, the spa also offers a workout facility with modern equipment (trainers available upon request).

special shout out:
A special shout out goes to the remarkable housekeeping service who delivered my daughter’s stuffed giraffe to our room at 2 in the morning when she discovered he was missing . Turns out Jerry the giraffe got scoped up in the sheets when housekeeping was changing the beds. Within 20 minutes of my putting out an all-points bulletin with the front desk, he was safety returned and sleep was resumed (for her anyway).
