The Four Seasons Jackson Hole is located in the majestic Grand Teton mountain range in western Wyoming. While Jackson Hole is a year-round destination as it’s close to biking, fishing, hiking and several famed national parks; for this review we are looking at it from a skier’s perspective. The property is located about 30 minutes from the airport, and is about a 10-15 drive from town… which is a real cowboy town with lots of great shops, bars and restaurants.
The slopeside location of the resort is certainly ideal. It’s just steps away from the gondola, beginner chairs, and tram. Forgot something?? You know someone in your family will arrive with only one ski glove packed, so rest assured there’ are ski shops, with rentals, conveniently just outside the hotel doors.
Flying to Jackson Hole
The Jackson Hole airport was recently renovated in 2014, and it probably one of the prettiest, if not the prettiest, airports we have ever landed in. Surrounded by mountains, and panoramic views from inside, you know you are somewhere special as soon as you arrive. Depending on where you are coming from, you may not have a direct flight, however frequent flights arrive from Salt Lake City, Denver and Chicago.
We had the concierge at the hotel arrange for airport transportation for us. We were picked up in a luxury SUV by a very friendly and knowledgeable driver.
As like the aesthetic of the hotel, the rooms rustic yet luxurious. The dark woods and western accents cultivate and environment that makes you feel at home in the west.
Room view options are Resort View. Mountain View and Valley View. While the Mountain View rooms are the priciest and offer the most gorgeous scenery, they can also be the noisiest as you may hear grooming snowcats in the night, and mountain crews coming to work in the morning.
Room configurations range from king to one bedroom suites to Presidential. The private residences offer up five-bedroom options.
Children under 18 can be accommodated free of charge, in the parents’ room (space permitting). Rollaway beds and cribs can be brought in upon request. All guest rooms are non-smoking and offer:
- Twice daily housekeeping
- Humidifiers (much needed as the climate is dry)
- Gas fireplaces
- Small Refrigerators
- Smart TVs
- WiFi (fees may apply)
- Lush bath products and hair dryers
- Robes for adults and kids
- Luxurious Bedding
important note about the roomS
The fireplace doors get VERY hot- best keep the fireplace off if toddlers are present!
There are a few different dining options on site, all of which are family-friendly and highly recommended.
The Handle Bar is a ski-in, ski-out option located at the base of the mountain on the hotel’s lower level. It offers outdoor seating, which also makes it a great apres-ski spot… if you are lucky enough to get a seat on the patio. It features American pub fare, a wide selection of beers and warming cocktails, great food and a super casual atmosphere.
The Westbank Grill is one of Jackson Hole’s most popular restaurants, offers steaks, seafood and a few signature dishes. the restaurant also has an extensive wine list, with over 25 different wines available by glass. The restaurant is also open daily for breakfast with bountiful buffet and a la carte options.
Reservations accepted by OpenTable
The Ascent Lounge provides comfortable seating and dining right in the hotel lobby. Lighter fare is on the menu, such as fresh sushi, sashimi and cheese plates. Depending on when you stop in, there might even be some live entertainment happening. You will certainly find a lot of families relaxing here, lounging out on the couches after a long day on the slopes. One strong suggestion…you MUST try the Cowboy Cookie!!
Enjoy the beautiful surroundings as you and your fully relax in the beautiful outdoor, 75-foot, heated pool and one of three hot-spring whirlpools. The pool is a magnificent oasis after a long day of being on the slopes. It’s also a popular apres-ski destination for families.

Skiing and Snowboarding at Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole is a very challenging mountain, many refer to it as being a skiers mountain as parts are even difficult for boarders to negotiate. At over 4,000 vertical feet, the terrain is steep. There is good reason as to why some of the nation’s best skier’s hale from Jackson Hole. The mountain does offer a variety of beginner and intermediate trails, and one of the lifts to access them happens to be just outside the hotel. However, if you are not planning on ski school… you should strongly consider your child’s ability before heading out.
Ski Valet Services
The hotel does offer ski valet services, and it’s a fantastic convenience. Your equipment is ready and waiting for as you head out in the morning, and someone is there to collect it as you come in for the day. They will even help you take your boots on and off!
Other great onsite features:
- Lift ticket sales
